University of East London Showcases Virtual Research

As a seasoned expert in immersive technology and digital innovation, I had the privilege of overseeing the development of the University of East London's (UEL) Virtual Research Exhibition at the British Science Festival 2024. This project was executed using VIVERSE for Business, our advanced spatial collaboration platform.

The event, marking the festival's return to London after 24 years, was attended by a diverse audience, including course organisers, faculty members, partners, students, and the general public from September 11 to 15. The exhibition provided a platform to demonstrate the practical applications of immersive technology in educational and research settings.

In my role as Project Director & Consultant at Kabuni, I facilitated the presentation of research from the Institute for Connected Communities and the RIX Centre for Inclusive Technology. The virtual environment allowed visitors to engage with research findings on metaverse safety, digital wellbeing, social prescribing, and youth democratic action. This approach not only showcased the research but also fostered collaboration with RIX, an inclusive research institute, to enhance community engagement and improve the lives of individuals with learning disabilities through digital and multimedia technologies.

The UEL virtual research exhibition exemplifies how immersive technology can be leveraged to create dynamic and interactive educational experiences. By enabling attendees to explore complex topics in an engaging format, we demonstrated the potential of such technologies to enhance both education and public engagement.

As we continue to expand our work in the education sector, we remain committed to collaborating with institutions like UEL and other industry leaders. Our focus is on delivering transformative, immersive learning experiences that align with our vision of integrating science, technology, and innovation into accessible and interactive formats.

For those interested in exploring the potential of immersive technology in education and research, I invite you to reach out for a discussion. My team is ready to share insights and explore collaborative opportunities to further advance this field.
